Worker, Immigrant and Student Rights for Protests:

  • The Legal Aid Society and Employment Law Center produced a document called Employees' Rights to Engage in Anti-War Protests. Much of the information in this document applies to participation in May 1 actions. English | Spanish
  • The ACLU developed a special resource page on immigrant marches. It includes valuable information on: the rights of immigrants who get stopped by immigration agents; the rights of protesters; and the rights of students to walk out of school and voice political speech at school.

  • The National Lawyers Guild San Francisco Bay Area Chapter, the American Civil Liberties Union of Northern California, La Raza Centro Legal, and the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights of the San Francisco Bay Area are calling on educators, school administrators and law enforcement to respect the rights of students in the event of school walkouts for immigrant rights on Monday, May 1st.
