 |
The growth of immigrant communities and communities of color has dramatically changed the face of California. |

Immigrants and people of color contribute significant talents, strengths and economic vitality to our state yet they are alarmingly under-represented at the polls. |
 |
Democracy will only truly work when everyone has equal access to rights, resources and the political system. |

Ballot Initiatives Forums
The MIV 2005 campaign hosted three ballot initiative forums in San Francisco, San Jose and Los Angeles to analyze and make recommendations on the propositions that will appear on the November ballot. Over 100 campaign participants from organizations throughout California analyzed who would benefit and lose from the passage of these initiatives, as well as their potential impact on immigrant communities. Their collective recommendations formed the basis of our MIV 2005 Campaign Voter Guide, a multilingual, voter education tool that campaign participants are distributing to immigrant communities throughout California.
