BAIRC Membership

The Bay Area Immigrant Rights Coalition (BAIRC) invites organizations and individuals committed to BAIRC’s values, agenda, mission, and vision to join us as members. We recognize that active member participation is the backbone of a strong coalition, and therefore we require members to participate in three or more BAIRC activities every six months to remain in good standing. BAIRC activities include, but are not limited to, campaign strategy sessions, committee meetings, direct actions, general meetings, and press conferences. Membership terms last for one year and may be renewed annually.

Individuals and organizations unable to meet BAIRC’s active participation requirement can still join the coalition, but as affiliates. Affiliates do not have voting rights. Their discounts on training are also smaller than those of members.

By joining BAIRC, you agree to:

Participate actively
Shape the direction of the Coalition
Serve as a representative of BAIRC that promotes the values, agenda, mission, and vision of the Coalition
Take BAIRC information and action steps back to your organization
Build mutual support for the work of BAIRC member organizations
Respect the collective decisions of the Coalition
Publicize BAIRC activities
Vote on endorsements, annual campaigns and BAIRC’s leadership
Maintain open communication with BAIRC’s staff
Be transparent about conflicts of interest
Evaluate BAIRC’s work, challenges, and accomplishments
Pay membership dues
